Export Shopify Orders to Labels — CSV to Print

You don't need an expensive Shopify app to print shipping labels. Export your orders as CSV from Shopify Admin, upload to OpenLabelMaker, and batch print address labels on any printer — free.

Works with DYMO, Zebra, Brother, Rollo, and Avery/HERMA sheet labels. Perfect for small shops that don't need carrier-integrated labels.

Step-by-Step

1

Export Orders from Shopify

In your Shopify Admin:

  1. Go to Orders
  2. Filter/select the orders you want to label
  3. Click Export → choose "Current page" or "Selected orders"
  4. Format: CSV for Excel (or plain CSV)
  5. Save the file
2

Shopify CSV Column Names

Shopify exports use specific column headers. Here are the ones you'll use for labels:

Name,Shipping Name,Shipping Address1,Shipping Address2,Shipping City,Shipping Province,Shipping Zip,Shipping Country
#1042,Jane Smith,123 Oak Street,,Portland,OR,97201,US
#1043,Mike Chen,456 Elm Ave,Apt 7B,Seattle,WA,98101,US

The exact column names may vary slightly depending on your Shopify version and export settings. The editor shows all detected columns so you can verify.

3

Design Your Label

Open the editor, pick a label size, and add placeholders matching Shopify's column headers:

{{Shipping Name}}
{{Shipping Address1}}
{{Shipping Address2}}
{{Shipping City}}, {{Shipping Province}} {{Shipping Zip}}
{{Shipping Country}}

Empty fields (like Address2) automatically collapse — no blank lines.

4

Upload CSV & Print

Click 📊 BatchUpload → drag your Shopify CSV. Preview filled labels. Export as multi-page PDF. Print. Done.

⚠️ When to Use This vs Shopify Shipping Labels

Shopify has built-in shipping label purchasing (USPS, UPS, DHL) with tracking. Use that if you need carrier-generated labels with live tracking.

Use OpenLabelMaker when:

  • • You use your own carrier account (not Shopify Shipping)
  • • You print packing slips / address labels separately from carrier labels
  • • You ship via local courier, private delivery, or self-fulfilment
  • • You need branded labels with your logo alongside carrier labels
  • • You need product labels, not shipping labels (barcode + name + price per SKU)

FAQ

Do I need to install a Shopify app?

No. You export orders as CSV from Shopify Admin (built-in feature), then upload to OpenLabelMaker. No app, no subscription, no per-order fees.

Can I also print product labels from Shopify?

Yes! Export your products (Products → Export) and use columns like {{Title}}, {{Variant SKU}}, {{Variant Price}} to create product labels with barcodes.

The Shopify CSV has many columns I don't need

That's fine. Only columns that match {{placeholders}} in your design are used. All other columns are ignored. You'll see which columns matched and which didn't.
