How to Print DYMO Labels Without Installing Software
DYMO Connect crashes. DYMO Connect won't install. DYMO Connect isn't available on Chromebook. Sound familiar?
OpenLabelMaker is a free, browser-based label editor that works with every DYMO LabelWriter label size — no download, no account, no DYMO Connect required.
Why People Ditch DYMO Connect
Constant crashes
DYMO Connect is notorious for freezing, crashing, and losing your label designs. Forums are full of frustrated users.
No Chromebook support
DYMO Connect only runs on Windows and macOS. If you have a Chromebook, you're stuck — unless you use a browser-based editor.
Huge download
DYMO Connect is a 400MB+ download that installs background services, drivers, and a full desktop app just to print a small label.
Account required
Recent versions push you to create a DYMO account. OpenLabelMaker needs zero registration — open the editor and start designing.
How It Works — 4 Steps
Pick your label size
Select from 30+ DYMO LabelWriter sizes: 99012, 99014, 11354, 99019, and many more. Exact mm dimensions.
Design your label
Add text (158 fonts), barcodes (Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A), QR codes, images, shapes. Full drag-and-drop editor.
Export as PDF or print directly. The output matches your DYMO label dimensions exactly — just load labels and print.
Supported DYMO LabelWriter Sizes
Every standard DYMO LabelWriter label is built in. Pick your size and start designing — no template downloads needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I still need DYMO drivers?
You need basic printer drivers for your OS to recognise the DYMO LabelWriter — most operating systems install these automatically via USB. You do not need DYMO Connect software. OpenLabelMaker outputs a PDF at the exact label dimensions, and you print it like any other document.
Can I use this on a Chromebook?
Yes! OpenLabelMaker runs entirely in your browser. If your Chromebook can print to your DYMO LabelWriter (many support it natively via USB), you can design and print labels without any additional software. See our DYMO Chromebook guide for setup tips.
Is this really free?
100% free, no trial, no watermark, no account required. Your label designs stay in your browser — we don't store or upload anything.
Can I print barcodes on DYMO labels?
Yes. OpenLabelMaker supports Code 128, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, ITF-14, Code 39, and QR codes. Add a barcode to any label size, type or paste your data, and it renders in real time.
What about DYMO label templates (.label files)?
OpenLabelMaker uses its own format (.olm.json) and doesn't import DYMO .label files. But every DYMO label size is already built in — just select your size code (99012, 11354, etc.) and start fresh. Most users find it faster than converting old templates.
